Carafe developed leak after cleaning
This blender worked just fine - in fact, the base unit still works fine - but the carafe developed a leak after I took it apart for cleaning, and now it will not hold liquid. I bought this blender based on price; guess I got what I paid for.
Almost caught on fire.
After only 5 or 6 uses, this thing started smoking so badly that I put it on my porch becasue I was afraid that it was going to catch fire. It did not end up on fire but did quit working completely. Do not buy. Complete junk.
UPDATE...
I ended up having to exchange it for the same model. The EXACT same thing happened again after the 4th use in as many days. I just threw it away and chocked it up to a lesson learned. I did contact Rival with my displeasure. I received an e-mail from them about a day later. They said that if I scanned a copy of my receipt, sent them a bunch of codes hidden all over the blender,(6 in total) and took a picture of it, they would consider replacing it under warranty. I did not contact them for a replacement. I just wanted to let them know that they should be ashamed of selling such an absolute piece of crap product.
Awful
Bought it from Walmart for $20 and it doesn't grind up any of my frozen berries. The blades are too small. Should have figured it was cheap and wouldn't work
