Breville XXBES820XL REFURBISHED Die-Cast 15-Bar Programmable Espresso Machine

Breville Does Not Back Up Their Warranties. Follow-up.
Breville eventually replaced with a new machine. Has worked great for two years now.

Recieved this machine last Friday, The Espresso & Steam Function work great. Easy to Program and makes excellent coffee.

Hot water function DOES NOT work. Seems to be a problem with the selector dial. When turned to "Hot Water" the light does not lite and nothing comes out of the hot water wand.

Contacted Breville customer support and was told that since it was not purchased through one of their "authorized" retailers, Breville would not honor the 90 day warranty that came with the machine. Could find nothing in the warranty included with the unit or the warranty on Breville's website that stated the machine had to be purchased through a specific retailer in order for the warranty to be valid.

After multiple exchanges Breville's customer service still refuses to honor their warranty.

Really like it...no problems thus far
We are so glad we purchased our refurbished Breville espresso machine and can say that we've had this unit for 9 months now without any problems. I remember we had a little trouble getting the water going initially (same problem we had with another of their espresso machines we had owned in Australia and put into storage for 12 months and then reused). However, after a few attempts, the water ran smoothly. I really enjoy this machine and being able to make great coffee with it. The frothing wand does it's job well and the hot water wand means I don't have the boil the kettle to make a cup of tea. Cosmetically, it's almost perfect, you'd have to look hard to notice a minor dimple. Highly recommended.

Breville XXBES820XL REFURBISHED Die-Cast 15-Bar Programmable Espresso Machine
I have used 100 to 200 dollar espresso machines for 15 years and they have never made coffee that tasted like it should. This machine is a bit more expensive but it makes coffee that tastes like it came from professional coffee house equipment. It is very easy to program to your own specifications or use right out of the box. In short, it is the best machine I've ever had in my house and would recommend it to any coffee buff on a moderate budget. If it holds up, I may never buy another, looking for a better made cup of espresso.
